So, it's been awhile since I've written anything, but I've been busy with life, and also the internet hasn't been working.
I'm currently sitting in a room surrounded by strangers at the first day of training at work. It feels just like a first day of school at a new school where everyone already knows each other. Despite everyone in this room being new too, they are all already talking amongst themselves...except for me of course. I don't even know how everyone started talking either...who asked who what? I hardly ever strike up conversations with strangers. I'm still too socially awkward and timid. I think I did alright at the wedding I went to with Michael though.
Speaking of which, Friday morning Michael and I were going to leave for Boston to attend his cousin's wedding. The night before, Thursday, we decided to not sleep. I went out with Fran and her friends Melissa, Tara, and Stephanie to this country-themed Line Dancing club near the Hard Rock Casino. I didn't know this place even existed, much less that it was so popular. It was fun, but a lot of the dances were fairly complicated to get at all.
So, we got home around 4am, and Michael, who had been napping and playing video games in our absence, and I started started packing in a hurry, thinking we had to be there at 5:30am at the latest to try to fly on standby on the earliest flight out at 6:30am.
We got to the airport at 530am and upon arriving realised leaving without any food was stupid, and having no money sucked. Not to mention we had forgotten the bloody wedding present at home in the rush. To top it off, the flight was full and we weren't able to get on.
We didn't get on a flight until 1pm. Luckily, during that time my dad brough us food, money, and the wedding gift. The funny thing is that they put us in First Class, and they made us change out of our jeans and into nice clothes to board. I have to say, it was a teeny section, the seats were crappy, and the attendant didn't smile once. I wouldn't really waste my money on it, unless maybe it was a huge plane or something. I guess I can't really complain when it was free though.
We got to Memphis about 2 hours later or so, and managed to get directly on a plane to Boston within 15 minutes. We got to Boston around 7pm.
I really like Boston....there's way more to do there than there ever would be here. And they have buses and trains to get anywhere you want. I wouldn't mind living there, except for when it's freezing in the winter of course.
I got to meet Michael's dad while I was there, along with all the relatives who attended the wedding on Sunday.
Saturday we saw Pirates of the Carribean 3, had ice cream, etc.
Sunday at the wedding we ate lots of delicious foods, and took some advantage of the 2 hours of open bar and the fact that they weren't carding me. I had a Jack & Coke and a Cosmopolitan. Also 3 little toasting glasses of champagne. The wedding was really nice. Michael and I danced a little and took pictures and such. The only bad thing was that after we got home later that night, something made me sick and I threw up -all- of the dishes served at the wedding. I feel ok now though, thank goodness. Who knows exactly what it was.
We got back home yesterday afternoon luckily getting on a plane as soon as we got there. It still took from 9:00am until 4:30pm though, and it was too cool to go in the pool by then. We did order some pizza we couldn't quite afford though, lol.
I'll see if I have any pictures worth posting later. Ciao!
